Lyons has a unique portfolio of contactless total payment solutions using cards, tags, key fobs and many other mediums including watches. This system offers full wireless networked compatibility and replication across multiple sites. This technology can be used in any of the three ranges of equipment. Using contactless technology the system can be adapted to use a segment on your existing staff access cards if you have them. This can reduce the need for carrying multiple cards. For further in-depth information from one of our expert cashless business advisors please contact us, or review further information on the Systopia website.
A change giving coin mechanism is fitted to the machine and the machine is programmed to charge the appropriate price for the chosen product. There are two options depending on the tariff on the machine; a silver only mechanism that will accept all coins from 5p to £2 or a copper mechanism that will also accept 1p and 2p coins. The amount of change held by the mechanism is reduced in the copper option. Machines can be programmed to either retain the credit after a vend until the customer pushes the change button, which is useful when making multiple selections, or dispense change automatically as soon as the transaction is made. Alternatively if a cashless system is fitted the balance can be transferred onto the card or tag if inserted instead of giving change. This balance can then be spent later using the card or tag in any compatible equipment.
Fitted to Executive Range machines only the integral card reader when fitted uses Hi-code magnetic stripe technology similar to that found on other swipe cards used in bankcards etc. The card has the ability to hold a value that can be added to by loading further cash at any compatible machine fitted with a reader. The card can also be used to control pricing where a discount can be set for certain groups of users which will charge a different price upon insertion of the card. This can include a limited number of free drinks or vends per day etc. Cards can be designed to individual requirements and can include photographs and logos. Hospitality services can be administered by using credit type cards that provide full auditable sales data. Also available as a networked system to link into a catering or central office server.
Fitted to Premier and Popular Range machines only, the Genius system is a card or tag based cashless payments system, based on contactless technology. This allows access to goods or services by using a key or card. Transactions are deducted from credits or allowances stored electronically. Cash can be loaded at machines fitted with coin mechanisms with the balance credits transferred onto the key or card to be spent at other equipment. Credit can also be programmed as a daily allowance enabling users to get a limited, controlled number of free credits daily. Audit data can be uploaded using an audit key and be printed out using a PC based interface.
Generally this is only an option on beverage machines where the organisation wishes to provide unlimited free drinks to their employees and visitors. This means that the machine will have no payment system fitted and will provide unlimited free products to any user.
